UVM Mobile App

All traffic information for the city of Ludwigshafen and the surrounding area in real time on your smartphone: the free app UVM Mobil, developed by VMZ, offers not only an intermodal route planner but also a mobility map that shows the current traffic situation, current traffic reports and information on existing mobility providers such as car and bike sharing, stops, charging stations, parking lots, etc.

Signal2X App

The Signal2X app provides information about the optimal speed for a green wave. The app developed by the VMZ shows the current traffic light status in real time and shows individual speed recommendations for public transport, motor traffic and bicycle traffic in order to reach them when green. Together with Yunex Traffic, the cooperative traffic control is implemented by the Signal2X app in order to optimize the traffic flow, making it more efficient and environmentally friendly.

MobiData BW

VMZ Berlin has won a tender for the development of an open mobility data platform and an intermodal routing service in the federal state of Baden-Württemberg. The project, initiated and ordered by Nahverkehrsgesellschaft Baden-Württemberg in collaboration with the Ministry of Transport Baden-Württemberg will be set up in the greater area of Stuttgart first but extension to the whole state of Baden-Württemberg is planned for 2020.

A further advantage: we already integrated important, Germany-wide providers.

Intermodal Route Planner

The VMZ’s route planner calculates the best path – according to the criterion of your choice: duration, distance, cost or environmental cost (CO2 emissions). This production-tested module for apps and info systems can be individualized at the project level. Upon request we will include external routing data from sources like Google and TomTom.

MMI Luxembourg

Together with the project partner HaCon, VMZ has realized a multimodal information platform for Luxembourg. As the overall project manager, VMZ closely accompanied the project and supplied components for dynamic MIV routing, route monitoring and an application for managing traffic messages. Whether bicycle, bus, train, tram, car or your own two feet - all modes find their place in the mobiliteit.lu planner. The new app makes it possible to track both public transport and the situation in road traffic in real time and to design a personalized travel chain.

Mobility Display Messe Berlin

Our mobilitx information can be easily integrated into other devices: for congress center Berlin Messe the VMZ runs a system in the cloud. Real-time information of the streels and from Berlin airports on upcoming departure flights are presented in the Messe’s content management system on portable columns at different locations.

Mobility Display Messe München

VMZ realized a 4K mobility display for the operation in an 80 inch display at the exit west of the Munich Trade Fair Centre. In addition to a location map, the mobility monitor contains an overview of public transport as well as the fair's own airport shuttles and details of the current traffic situation and related messages.

Cycling4Trees

The 2019 Cycling4Trees challenge, initiated and operated in close collaboration with Siemens Mobility GmbH from July to September 2019 between the teams of Berlin, Cologne, and Munich, was won by team Berlin throughout the whole three months’ challenge. As a result, all three trees, sponsored by Siemens for the winner of each month, were planted in Berlin on November 21st, 2019. The trees found their new home on Falkenseer Chaussee in Spandau and provide for a better climate in the city of Berlin from now on.

Green Wave by App

With Yunex’ Yutraffic YuBike, cities and municipalities make urban cycling attractive in a cost-efficient way. VMZ developed the app that makes it possible. Using the cyclist’s smartphone GPS data, it grants right of way to the cyclist at intersections – the SiBike app has already signaled his upcoming arrival 60 meters beforehand.

Mobility Display Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt Airport is well-connected: there are many ways to continue travel after landing. Sixteen mobility displays developed and managed by the VMZ for Fraport AG show all ground connections: long-distance and regional trains, long-distance and city buses, carsharing and bikesharing services and even current travel times on surrounding highways.

Thanks to 50 Mobility Monitor displays at BER airport, travellers arriving can quickly find their way around. In terminals T1 and T2 as well as T5, monitors provide information about public transport, current traffic situation, car sharing options and traffic disruptions. VMZ realised and operates the displays on behalf of FBB Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.

At Duisburg Port truck drivers can find their way to the right dock every time. Helping them is a Smartphone App developed by VMZ and Siemens. It provides drivers, logistics providers and the terminal operator with GPS-based dynamic data on travel times, routes and destinations, even in the case that times and routes become modified.

Virtual Infopanels in Braunschweig

In a mobile city, traffic information panels are no longer stationary: In Braunschweig the VMZ replaced two real panels with virtual ones in a pilot project for the municipal provider BELLIS. Data came from a Scala/Concert system. An app brings the information to the user’s smartphone as soon as he crosses geofencing triggerlines.

Mobility displays have proven itself outside of Berlin, too. Two displays, one for individual transport, the other for public transport, demonstrate this at SIEMENS’ Munich offices for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Data on the traffic situation doesn’t come from the Traffic Information Center Berlin but from a local provider integrated by the VMZ.

Mobility Display Tegel Airport

Travelers arriving at Berlin’s Tegel Airport can quickly orient themselves on the ground thanks to 18 mobility displays helping them find their way. At baggage claims, bus bays, and rental car centers the monitors show maps of current traffic conditions, public transport departures, and a ticker with transportation disruptions. VMZ administers the displays on behalf of FFB Berlin Brandenburg Airports.

BayernInfo

VMZ Berlin has developed a car routing service for the public mobility portal “BayernInfo”, which provides mobility information for the federal state of Bavaria. The portal was relaunched on December 5th, 2019. The dynamic car routing service covers the whole area of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and provides routing information based on real time traffic information and traffic incidents in Bavaria. Besides real time routing information the routing service also integrates historical data in order to provide routing prognoses for future requests.
